|WAITING ON WEDNESDAY| Of Neptune by Anna Banks & Inu x Boku SS Volume 3 by Cocoa Fujiwara (19)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine. It is a way to spotlight books that have yet to be released and it is awesome and you should join.
COME OVER TO THE DARK SIDE.

My book pick of the week is…

OF NEPTUNE (#3)
Release Date: May 13th, 2014
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Pages: 336

Emma and Galen’s kingdom and their love is threatened by long-lost Syrena in the brilliant conclusion to Anna Banks bestselling trilogy.

Emma, half human and half Syrena, and her Syrena love, Galen, need time together alone. Away from the kingdoms of Poseidon and Triton. Emma’s grandfather, the Poseidon king, suggests the two visit a small town called Neptune.

Neptune is home to both Syrena and Half-Breeds alike. But Emma and Galen didn’t sign up to be peacemakers between the ocean and the land-dwelling, freshwater Syrena. They didn’t bargain for meeting a charming Half-Breed named Reed, who can barely disguise his feelings for Emma. And they especially didn’t expect to find themselves in the middle of a power struggle that threatens not only their love but their ocean kingdoms.

In this stunning conclusion to her bestselling Syrena Legacy, Anna Banks thrills fans with more action and romance than ever.
The Syrena Legacy trilogy is made of extremely fun and entertaining reads. I will always have a particularly fondness for Toraf and Rayna relationship, and so while Of Triton certainly had a very satisfying ending, I will never resist more Toraf being offered.

And no, Toraf is not the only reason I really want to read Of Neptune. Whatever do you mean? *offended look* I'm looking forward to Toraf and Rayna moments too obviously. So ha.

I can't forget the humor and Anna Bank's easy to read writing style that pulls you right in, so I think Of Neptune is a promise of awesomeness.

*suspicious stare at Reed*

My manga pick of the week is…

18295856
INU X BOKU SS (#3)
Release Date: April 22nd, 2014
Publisher: Yen Press
Pages: 192

The residents of Ayakashi Hall decide to make a time capsule and bury it on the grounds, so everyone writes letters to their "future selves" to be included within. As Ririchiyo composes her letter, she reflects on her time with Soushi, realizing how much she has grown with the fox at her side. But when those heartfelt feelings are accidentally delivered not to her future self but to Soushi, Ririchiyo's budding social skills will be put to the test! Is she ready for a face-to-face confession of her true feelings?!
Inu x Boku Secret Service was an anime I absolutely adored when it first came out and so naturally the manga series is one I've had every intention of starting. This isn't a series I thought would be licensed in the United States for at least a while, so I think I'll forever love Yen Press. I'm also really looking forward to when this series is completed because I know all the volumes together will be pretty and I will love them forever too, but until then I'll just appreciate reading this story volume by volume.

|BREAKING APART ANTHOLOGIES| Fifty First Times: Under The Seryn Moon by Melissa Landers

UNDER THE SERYN MOON
Review by: Kaede
Release Date: February 4th, 2014
Publisher: Avon Impulse
Pages: 350

You always remember your first time...

Whether it's the couple who decides not to go through with it, the two boys who finally aren't ashamed, the newlyweds whose wedding night could very well be their last night together, the deaf pair who have no choice but to take body language to a new level--or, of course, the two young lovers fumbling and laughing, getting everything wrong. These are the memories that will never fade.

Join nineteen fantastic authors as they pull back the curtain and give you a peek inside that one intense moment in their characters' lives when everything changes and nothing will ever be the same again.

Featuring stories from some of the hottest names in New Adult, Young Adult, and Romance including New York Times Bestselling authors J.Lynn/Jennifer Armentrout, Molly McAdams, Sophie Jordan, and Carrie Ryan.

NOTE: These stories are works of fiction. If you want to know about our first times, you'll have to buy us a pet monkey first.

Although I did buy Fifty First Times mainly because of Jennifer L. Armentrout, I knew there were a lot of authors whos work I love or that I know are well received and I was looking forward to reading. There were authors who I had an eye on because I wanted to test out their writing to see if their books would be something I'd enjoy, and also authors who I own books by that I really want to read but haven't been able to. Melissa Landers is one of those authors and Alienated is definitely on my priority to read list, but I'm trying to hold off until at least the sequel is released or near release date.

I've seen some status updates and reviews for this anthology, and Under the Seryn Moon seems to be one of the favorites so it was the one I sought out after I read Believe in Me. As of right now, I've only read two of the short stories, but Under the Seryn Moon is my favorite, and I definitely see it remaining as one of my favorite stories in Fifty First Times. (Whose's title is a little misleading if you ask me, because I thought there'd be fifty stories at first. Grrr. But it's okay. :D)

An arranged marriage to a stranger because of her father and a peace treaty seems to be what's in store for Lyra's future. She barely knows where she'll be living from now on, but Lyra knows her husband even less. But oh Kai. I like him a lot.

Okay he's good. Like really good. And that sounds really wrong.
Kai was patient and caring and perceptive and there are definitely far worst outcomes from an arranged marriage than Kai. Kai and Lyra's interactions together were cute, sweet, and sometimes swoon worthy. There's hesitation at first, but then Lyra starts liking Kai as she gets to know him more and with time you can see that they will definitely fall in love. Kai is the type of love interest that would made my book boyfriend list easily if he was part of a longer series, or even book. There were also a lot of potential with Lyra's character that I'd like to see explored, because not once did I feel like she annoyed me. (Rest assured, that is not easy to pull off for a character.) Although, in fairness, her story was short. I didn't realized when I read the last page that it would end so soon and it was a very upsetting feeling to be taken away from Lyra and Kai. This is me scowling. Grrrr.

Under the Seryn Moon accomplished what I hoped it would - it made me that much more excited to read Alienated and Landers's future books. Under the Seryn Moon is an example of a short story done right. You feel satisfied, yet you certainly wouldn't mind a full sized novel with these characters. Or two.
