You always remember your first time...
Whether it's the couple who decides not to go through with it, the two boys who finally aren't ashamed, the newlyweds whose wedding night could very well be their last night together, the deaf pair who have no choice but to take body language to a new level--or, of course, the two young lovers fumbling and laughing, getting everything wrong. These are the memories that will never fade.
Join nineteen fantastic authors as they pull back the curtain and give you a peek inside that one intense moment in their characters' lives when everything changes and nothing will ever be the same again.
Featuring stories from some of the hottest names in New Adult, Young Adult, and Romance including New York Times Bestselling authors J.Lynn/Jennifer Armentrout, Molly McAdams, Sophie Jordan, and Carrie Ryan.
NOTE: These stories are works of fiction. If you want to know about our first times, you'll have to buy us a pet monkey first.
Although I did buy Fifty First Times mainly because of Jennifer L. Armentrout, I knew there were a lot of authors whos work I love or that I know are well received and I was looking forward to reading. There were authors who I had an eye on because I wanted to test out their writing to see if their books would be something I'd enjoy, and also authors who I own books by that I really want to read but haven't been able to. Melissa Landers is one of those authors and Alienated is definitely on my priority to read list, but I'm trying to hold off until at least the sequel is released or near release date.
I've seen some status updates and reviews for this anthology, and Under the Seryn Moon seems to be one of the favorites so it was the one I sought out after I read Believe in Me. As of right now, I've only read two of the short stories, but Under the Seryn Moon is my favorite, and I definitely see it remaining as one of my favorite stories in Fifty First Times. (Whose's title is a little misleading if you ask me, because I thought there'd be fifty stories at first. Grrr. But it's okay. :D)
An arranged marriage to a stranger because of her father and a peace treaty seems to be what's in store for Lyra's future. She barely knows where she'll be living from now on, but Lyra knows her husband even less. But oh Kai. I like him a lot.
Okay he's good. Like really good. And that sounds really wrong. |
Under the Seryn Moon accomplished what I hoped it would - it made me that much more excited to read Alienated and Landers's future books. Under the Seryn Moon is an example of a short story done right. You feel satisfied, yet you certainly wouldn't mind a full sized novel with these characters. Or two.
